Solutions for a range of applications

Agriculturalists

Reliable and sustainable water access is essential for agricultural operations. At Decle Drilling, we work closely with farmers to maximise water yields for irrigation and livestock. By assessing soil types, aquifer locations, and future expansion plans, we ensure your water management system is optimised for long-term productivity. Our expertise in drilling stock, domestic, and large-scale irrigation bores supports efficient and sustainable water usage, helping to keep your farm thriving, even in challenging conditions.

Landowners

Living in remote or rural areas requires self-sufficiency, especially when it comes to water supply. Decle Drilling specialises in domestic and stock bores, ensuring you have a reliable and secure source of water tailored to your property’s needs. We navigate complex terrain and unique site conditions to deliver quality results, so you can focus on enjoying the benefits of a dependable water system. Whether it’s for household use, livestock, or future property development, we provide solutions that give you peace of mind.

Councils and Communities

We partner with local councils to deliver essential water infrastructure that supports the needs of entire communities. From town water supplies to environmental monitoring bores, our team has the experience and capability to manage large-scale, strategic projects. We understand the importance of reliable and sustainable water systems for community well-being and work with councils to provide comprehensive, compliant, and cost-effective solutions that are built to last.

Government Agencies and Environmental Groups

We understand the importance of protecting our natural resources. Decle Drilling offers environmental monitoring bore services, carefully constructed to assess groundwater levels, quality, and impacts. We strictly adhere to environmental regulations and the Australian Minimum Construction Requirements, providing data and detailed bore logs for government and environmental research. Our experience includes collaborations with government agencies, where our compliance with reporting protocols ensures effective groundwater management. We contribute to sustainable resource use, supporting environmental groups with expert drilling and comprehensive data collection.

Indigenous Communities and Remote Area Development

Serving remote communities is a responsibility we take seriously. At Decle Drilling, we provide reliable and sustainable water supply solutions for Indigenous communities, emphasising self-sufficiency. Our team is culturally aware and respectful of Indigenous lands and traditions, engaging in meaningful collaboration with community leaders to ensure the long-term success of our projects. Our T3 truck-mounted rig allows us to access even the most remote or rugged sites, and our past successful projects reflect our commitment to improving water accessibility while respecting cultural heritage.

Developers and Construction Companies

For developers and construction companies, Decle Drilling offers efficient site water management solutions. We understand the fast-paced nature of construction projects and deliver quick, reliable drilling services on time and within budget. Our customised solutions are tailored to your project’s size and site-specific needs, whether for dust control, site operations, or future development. We have the capability to handle high-demand projects, collaborating seamlessly with construction teams to ensure smooth operations from site assessment to completion.

Research Institutions and Universities

We support geological and hydrological research with precision drilling services tailored to academic and research needs. Decle Drilling provides detailed data, including bore logs and geological reports, to aid in data-driven studies and research projects. Our experienced team is available for consultations, offering insights into geological formations across Cape York and beyond. We are committed to advancing scientific understanding through reliable and accurate drilling services.

Process

Our proven drilling process, honed over three decades, delivers reliable results. We start by assessing the site using geological data, bore records, and, when appropriate, divining methods. A test hole is drilled to determine soil stability and water-bearing formations. Once a stable bore with sufficient water flow is achieved, we use 5” PVC casing, gravel packing, and a cement seal to ensure long-lasting durability and water quality.

Location

Choosing the best site for a water bore is vital for efficiency and sustainability. We consider power sources for your pump, potential contaminants like septic systems, property boundaries, and underground utilities. Our team can also advise agricultural clients on optimal bore placement for irrigation and livestock, while councils benefit from our strategic approach to community water infrastructure.

Access

Our T3 truck-mounted rig is built for tough Australian conditions, accessing even the most remote or rugged sites with ease. From expansive agricultural properties to remote exploration sites, we ensure efficient and timely operations, tailored to your needs.

Timeframe

The time to complete a water bore depends on various factors, including bore type, depth, and ground conditions. A shallow, straightforward bore might take only a few hours, while more complex projects could span several days. Upon completion, you’ll receive a detailed bore log, with a copy sent to the relevant Authorities.

Cost

Drilling costs vary based on bore purpose (domestic, stock, irrigation, or exploration), bore size, depth, and casing material. We provide transparent quotes, drawing from decades of experience to offer fair and realistic estimates. Additional costs, such as site preparation and travel fees, are clearly outlined, ensuring no surprises. We understand the economic pressures faced by our clients and work to deliver cost-effective solutions without sacrificing quality.

Permits

Navigating the permit process can be complex, but our team simplifies it for you. Depending on your location and bore purpose, you may need a water licence, water entitlement, or development permit. We guide you through these requirements to ensure full compliance, helping avoid delays or legal complications. Visit here for more details on permits.

For those drilling in the Cook sub-artesian area, we clarify the specific exemptions and distances required, ensuring your project aligns with local regulations. If you’re uncertain about permits, our expertise is just a call away.

Compliance

At Decle Drilling, we understand that drilling for water is a significant investment. With our unmatched expertise and commitment to regulatory compliance, we ensure every project meets the highest standards. All our water bores are constructed in line with the Australian Minimum Construction Requirements for Water Bores, safeguarding our precious groundwater resources and maximising efficiency.
